Starting Small and Staying Small
By Christian Chandler, winemaker
Caelestis Cellars is proud to be an urban micro-winery. Starting small means that we can pay close attention to every detail of the winemaking process and every aspect of customer service. We will grow slowly, deliberately, and only to a point that allows us to execute our commitments to quality and service. We have no aspirations to compete with the big wineries. Instead, our aim is to offer an intimate connection for our members that cannot be replicated on a large scale.
Staying small, however, does not mean we will not compete in what we plan to deliver. We will always offer the highest quality handcrafted wine representing the best of the outstanding Pacific Northwest growing regions.
Caelestis Cellars wine will be available primarily to members only and initially within the Portland metro region, although we can be convinced by our friends in Seattle to visit them, too. While you will not find Caelestis Cellars wine in grocery stores you will see us create partnerships in creative ways with other businesses in our community. This may include a few select local restaurants, perhaps a local wine bar, or an up-and-coming new food manufacturer. We even like the idea of coming together with local distillers in our place or theirs to promote whiskey and wine! The central theme will always be to stay local and work together with like-minded small businesses to offer our community something special.
Every day is a drink-the-good-wine-day!
Our wine is coming soon!
We are starting the bottling process of our first vintages this weekend, so watch for our inaugural Barrel Club opening in June. The fall 2022 delivery will include a silky Merlot, a bold Cabernet Sauvignon, two styles of Chardonnay, and a fresh Rose. For a bit more information, feel free to visit our wines page on our website. Watch for more information in June!
