Introducing our Pinot Noir Rosé & the Barnes Vineyard

The Barnes Family at their home in Newberg, Oregon

Please meet the wonderful Barnes Family. We are lucky enough to have the opportunity to secure all of the Barnes Family’s Pinot Noir grapes from their 40-year-old vines in the Chehalem Mountains AVA.

Lisa Barnes shared their story with us. “In late 2019, we decided to return to our roots in Oregon to be closer to family. Fate led us to this gorgeous property in the Chehalem hills outside Newberg where we decided to build our home among nearly 2 acres of old Pinot Noir vines. Rather than pulling up these well-rooted vines, we decided to dig in and learn what it takes to grow the most sought-after wine grape in the world. Our hope is that we play a small part in the process of bringing family and friends together over an amazing bottle of wine.” The Barnes Family is playing a HUGE part in creating delicious Caelestis Cellars wine!

We cannot wait for you to taste our Pinot Noir Rosé! To secure your Pinot Noir Rosé releasing September 2022, join the Caelestis Cellars Barrel Club!

Our Barnes Vineyard Pinot Noir is still resting in the barrel and will be released in 2023. Barrel Club members will have first access, of course!

Every day is a drink-the-good-wine-day!

Caelestis Cellars 2021 Pinot Noir Rosé tasting notes:

A charmer from the first sip, this Rosé greets you with bright berries and dried flower petals. Our Pinot Rosé grapes are sourced from the Barnes Vineyard located in Newberg, Oregon. The vineyard is part of the Chehalem Mountains AVA, established in 2006, which is wholly contained within the greater Willamette Valley AVA. Our Pinot Rosé spent 6 hours in contact with the grape skins prior to pressing - just enough time to impart a shell-pink color. It was fermented to be dry and has a crisp, fresh first impression. With a light floral aroma and notes of strawberry and raspberry, this wine pairs elegantly with fresh basil pesto pasta and Oregon kale salad. You are going to love it!
