Have you ever been curious about
the different styles of Chardonnay?

September’s release will feature two Chardonnays - one matured in stainless steel and one matured in oak. Our Chardonnay grapes were grown on the previously introduced Meek Vinyard in the Yamika Valley AVA. I am excited to share these two distinct ways that Chardonnay can show up in the glass - one clean and crisp while the other is more complex and smooth. I suggest that you try these wines side-by-side for a fun comparison.

Stainless Steel Chardonnay tasting notes:
Our bright and fresh stainless steel Chardonnay is a dose of sunshine. The grapes were pressed then cold fermented to enhance the aromas and innate flavor characteristics of the grapes. Following primary fermentation, the wine was put through malolactic fermentation and matured in stainless steel under anaerobic conditions to retain the crispness and light color of the wine. With notes of tart Granny Smith apple, a dash of honeysuckle, and a subtle minerality, this wine is delicious with Dungeness crab and grilled vegetables.

Oaked Chardonnay tasting notes:
Our oaked Chardonnay is smooth and friendly. After being cold fermented to retain the aroma and innate flavor characteristics of the grapes, they were put through malolactic fermentation before spending 5 months in new French oak barrels. this wine offers creamy vanilla highlights, light minerality, and balanced tannins to pair gracefully with grilled Coho salmon or Korobuta pork.

You are going to really enjoy sharing these interesting and approachable wines with your family and friends.

Every day is a drink-the-good-wine day!
