Wine Sensory - Putting The Pieces Together

Hello, friends!
We have been talking about engaging all of your senses to make drinking Caelestis Cellars wine (and eating food!) fun and exciting. As a reminder, sensory is the human connection between how something looks, smells, tastes, and feels and how your body and mind react to all of those stimuli.
You have already learned about visually examining, taking a deep smell, and tasting the wine, so now let’s put all the pieces together.
Putting the pieces together:
All of the sensory experiences - the color, the clarity, the nose, the palate, and the finish - combine to tell you a lot about the overall quality of the wine. This is how wine experts - sommeliers, wine raters, and winemakers - examine wines and talk about the complexity of a wine.
Complexity is a term often used to describe wine. A complex wine imparts several interesting and pleasing sensations with no one part dominating the experience. A complex wine is one in which aroma, flavor, mouthfeel, and finish are all present during the tasting experience.
The sensory experience, particularly with wine, is very unique to each person. While wines are judged on the senses outlined in these blog posts, every wine–drinker has their own unique perception of what they like and don’t like. That is part of the fun about trying a lot of different wines, even wines you think you don’t like!
Not everyone is going to agree on what is best, but cultivating an adventurous and wide palate will ensure you are learning and experiencing all that wine has to offer. You might even find something new to delight your senses!
