Harvest 2023! - A photo tour of the Pinot Noir crush

By Kim Silva, co-founder

Wine dog Chelsea approved of the Pinot Noir grapes.

A golden retriever is licking her lips after tasting a grape.

Chelsea also taste-tested the grapes to make sure they were just right. (Don’t worry. She was immediately told no because grapes are bad for dogs.)

Still in the vineyard, a small forklift if picking up a harvest bin full of grapes.

The hardworking crew harvested more than 3 tons. Our biggest harvest year yet from the Barnes Vineyard!

A huge white plastic bin, a harvest bin, is full of purple grapes with the vineyard in the background.

Six harvest bins full of grapes!

Two men are standing in the back of a box truck scooping purple grapes from a huge harvest bin

We crushed all three tons in one day so they would begin fermenting into wine.

A close up of the purple Pinot Noir grapes with the vineyard hazy in the background.

These beauties are going to make the most deliciously delicate Pinot Noir wine…we may even age it for three years just to torture you (and ourselves).

Next up - Tempranillo grapes from the Walla Walla AVA, the Oregon side. This will be our first time making wine from Tempranillo grapes so we are super excited and looking forward to sharing it with you.

Every day is a drink-the-good-wine-day!

Warm hugs,
Kim
